NIV Color Code Bible {BookLook}

If you are looking for a new Bible, I have one to share with you all. If I was searching for a new Bible, this is the one I would want. As a highlighting girl, this Bible is perfect!

The NIV Color Code Bible is designed to be a children’s Bible, but would be extremely beneficial for anyone.

Honestly, this is probably my favorite Bible {excluding my personal, well highlighted, Bible}.

I seriously love this Bible. I am so glad to have this opportunity to share it with you. I know, there are many choices when considering a particular Bible for our personal study. Add this one to your list!

The Introductions:

Well over 50 pages are devoted to introducing us to the Bible! In these pages, we are given a well informed introduction as we learn many things. It is such a rarity to have a deliberate introduction like this, about the things that truly matter. Making this Bible the best choice.

The Highlights:

This gorgeous Bible has 3,000 passages highlighted to show us important Scriptures. Colorful highlights. Each fitting into 10 different categories. Not only does it highlight Scripture, we are given an “easy-to-understand” teaching on each category – which equips us with the truth.  As we search the Scriptures on God, New Life, or other areas, we are taught and led closer to our Lord Jesus.

While designed for children, this Bible with its added features would be extremely valuable to anyone who is seeking the Lord through His Word – the Bible.

The Teachings:

In the introduction, we are met with Bible teachings in an easy-to-understand format. We are taught things like –

  • What is the Bible?
  • Who wrote the Bible?
  • Why we should read the Bible?

“God wants you to know Him. He made you and He loves you more than you can imagine. . . (p. 21).”

Designed to Help Us Draw Near

The features are just amazing, my friends. I am excited about this Bible and how it can lead others into the Word of God. The highlights are intriguing, especially to someone like me who loves to highlight. My mom loves this Bible too. We actually decided to share it.

In Christ,

Kids’ Visual Study Bible (BookLook)

Visual BibleMy friends, the greatest gift we can give to our kids is – the Word of God.

As we sit and share our hearts for Jesus, we are giving them a special gift. Let’s present Jesus to them through our words and a Bible of their very own. Something that will help them learn about our great God and His love for them.

The Treasure –

The NIV Kids’ Visual Study Bible: Explore the Story of the Bible—People, Places, and History is an amazing Bible. One of my favorite aspect of this Bible is – the fact that it is a study Bible. In the margins, we can find insight we might otherwise miss. Plus: This Bible is colorful; this is where we find beautiful photographs woven into the Bible – which reminds us of God’s handiwork. There are over 700 photographs in this special Bible!

This is a special gift, which will allow our children to open the wonder of God’s Word – and discover who He is – for themselves. The goal of this Bible is to present our Lord Jesus Christ and His truths to the children in our lives.

My Concluding Thoughts –

I absolutely love this Bible. I am looking forward to reading it with my niece, but also to have for myself. The study notes, in particular, are a needed thing, because sometimes we just need a little (or a lot) of help learning to understand what God is teaching us through His Word – the Bible. God will definitely use this Bible to encourage many, to keep drawing near to Him.

Friends, I am excited about the possibilities. This Bible with added features can help our children become closer to the Lord. I am thankful for this Bible and the opportunity to review it. I am so excited to see how the NIV Kids’ Visual Study Bible will encourage my niece in her own relationship with the Lord.

Under the Sea Bible (A BookLook Review)

under the seaWe are truly blessed to live in a land, where having children’s Bibles are so readily available to us! Click here to see other Bible reviews.

The Goal –

Giving our children the Word of God is the best decision we could make, in terms of gift giving. Through the Bible, we are giving our children the opportunity to experience God for themselves – as they get to know God and learn how to have a love relationship with God through His precious Son Jesus Christ.

The Design –

The cover of this Bible is beautiful. It uses a wide range of colors, sparkles, and reveals the sea life. God has made all things – including the beautiful sea creatures. Not only is the Bible beautiful in its initial appearance, it seems as though it would be durable.

The first impression of this Bible is that it will be filled with kid-friendly approaches to getting to know God by reading His Word. I was surprised, by the lack of features involved in this Bible. Because the Bibles today are often comparable to one another, we can make decisions about Bibles like we would about the style of a kitchen appliance. There is not simply one choice.

My Concerns –

  • Not quite designed to reach young children.
  • It does not have a lot of features to help invite our children (especially younger children) into the Word of God. Features are designed to help them travel through the pages of God’s truths. It would seem to be of great importance for a child’s Bible.
  • The print is smaller than preferred – which makes it difficult for some to concentrate and read

This Bible is a good choice. Reading the Bible is always a good choice. Buying our children a Bible is always a great choice. But, how can we make a great choice? Would this be the best Bible for our children? You have to make that choice for yourselves.

My Praises –

  • This Bible uses a translation (NIRV) that is easy to understand.
  • It accomplishes the intended purpose – to teach us who God is, how He loves us, and to know Him and His will.
  • It will help our children enjoy God and His Word, as they take the time to read His Word.

Just a reminder, I was given a free copy by the publisher, Thomas Nelson, through BookLook Bloggers Program, in exchange for a honest review.

Review: Jesus Helps Me (& Give-Away!)

Today, I come befojesus helps mere you all to share a review on a new book by Graham Blanchard PublishingYou all might recall I began reviewing for them August 2015. When I first found out about GBP, I wanted to get my hands on one of their kids’ books. They looked amazing. I didn’t know if I would ever be given an opportunity to review for them again, but I just loved the design behind their children’s books.

We serve a God who provides, because today I have the opportunity to share my thoughts on this book – and – why I would recommend it!

Not only have I received a copy, I get the opportunity to g i v e – a w a y a copy of this handy children’s book!!

From the “Knowing My God” Series

Background

Jesus Helps Me is a children’s board book designed to help our kids (from birth to 7 years of age) learn about the love and help of our Savior Jesus. Because of the way it is written and formatted, it will reach age gaps that are hard to navigate. That is one of the assets of her board books. Even though the developmental differences between a baby and early school age child are so different, they have found a way to include a wide range of ages to reach our children.

Up until seven years of age, our children are growing. Not only physically or emotionally, they are growing spiritually. We need to focus on how to meet all of our children’s needs, as the grow ups in their lives (whether you are a parent, aunt, caregiver, etc). The one need we often neglect is their spiritual needs. It’s the one we don’t often think about, as caregivers (to learn more, I recommend “Spiritual Parenting in the First Five Years”).

This is a children’s book that will lead our children to develop their own knowledge and trust in their Savior Jesus Christ!

Jesus Helps Me (And You too!)

While the book offers biblical truth, they use the right words and beautiful pictures to describe the beauty of knowing God through His Son Jesus. It is done in such a way that it will excite your child to read and learn about God as their helper.

“… But your heart can believe in Him and know Him. He sent His Son to help you…”

Author Callie Grant, provides a book filled with such truths that you will want to get your hands on this book. It’s not just a children’s book. Rather, it’s an instrument to fuel your children’s faith in Christ. This book, Jesus Helps Me, reaches our children’s level. It is designed to reach a variety of developmental levels. It is colorful. It is beautifully illustrated. It takes what our kids know and see, and helps them understand the heart of God. It takes John 12:44-47, and shares the truth of the Word – piece by piece.

An Added Feature::

At the end of the book, the author provides helpful tips to give the adults the training to know the best way to utilize this book in their child’s life. This is a book that will help us to lay seeds in our children’s lives of who God is and how He wants to help them. Knowing how to best utilize this book, will provide grow ups with the right approach to get the maximum use out of the book.

For example) While a toddler may grasp the truth most by utilizing the pictures, an older child can better grasp the truth of the Scripture by asking questions and talking about the truth of Jesus’ words.

God Gave Us Sleep (A Blogging-for-Books Review)

God Gave Us SleepThis is the latest book by Lisa Tawn Bergren and the talented artist – Laura J. Bryant.

One reason I prefer their books over others, is the combination of beautiful pictures and the stories that draw children closer to the truth we find in the Bible.

This is the fourth book I have been able to read and enjoy from these ladies.

God Gave Us Sleep points our children to biblical truth.

While it doesn’t use specific Scriptures, it highlights God as our Maker. Even though we have times where we don’t want to rest, God still has given us this need. We have to rest. This book opens the door to teach our children this important truth early on.

Rest is important for everyone. It is a key component of how God has designed us.

God Gave Us Sleep teaches the importance of sleep. It helps us to teach our children with concrete examples of why they need rest. We don’t have to leave our answers as “because I said so,” with the help of this book. Not only are children taught rest’s importance, they also get the joy of learning each thing in their lives has a season. They can’t play all the time. We can’t work all the time. We need to have a daily rhythm that includes rest.

If I had to choose a favorite part of this story, it would be the fact that Little Cub realized her irritation with others – because she hadn’t gotten a good night’s sleep. It is such a good example to see that we will find ourselves lacking if we try and skip resting.

Highly Recommend!
