Gracefully Overcoming

Living in the Confidence and Hope Found in Christ Alone!

Enemies and Victories

In Psalm 18, we are given fifty life-changing verses. But when we skip along to verses 46-49, we are given some incredible encouragement. Join me?

“The Lord lives! Praise to my Rock! May the God of my salvation be exalted! He is the God who pays back those who harm me; he subdues the nations under me and rescues me from my enemies. You hold me safe beyond the reach of my enemies; you save me from violent opponents. For this, O Lord, I will praise you among the nations; I will sing praises to your name (nlt).”

I love the part about how the Lord keeps us safe, beyond the reach of our enemies. We need these truths, especially on the hard days.

Enemies

It causes me to think about my current enemies. I do have a few. None are flesh and blood type of enemies though.

While enemies are never easy to deal with, I am reminded of Psalm 23, where our Shepherd and Lord will prepare a feast for us. And it isn’t a hidden feast. We are given this amazing feast that our enemies are forced to watch.

… & Blessings

While others will oppose us, the Lord will pour blessing after blessing on our hearts and lives, and others who oppose us are having to watch everything the Lord is doing. What an amazing testimony!

He Gives Us Victory!

Because I am speaking of Psalm 23, let’s read those Scriptures:

“The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need. He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name. Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings. Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.”
