“And because of my imprisonment, most of the believers here have gained confidence and boldly speak God’s message without fear (Phil. 1:14).”
“And now, O Lord, hear their threats, and give us, your servants, great boldness in preaching your word… After this prayer, the meeting place shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Then they preached the word of God with boldness (Acts 4:29, 31).”
In the King James, it uses the wording “waxing confident” – which means trust becomes confident. Freshly confident.
The Lord makes our confidence fresh in the Lord. It is awe-inspiring to know that our sufferings can influence and increase our boldness in how we live out our faith and share the Gospel with others. And as others were greatly influenced by Paul and his imprisonment for spreading the Good News about Christ, I know my life can count for something!
My life and suffering can mean something.
My flares can point others to our Savior Jesus Christ!
My daily trials can, by God’s grace, help others to find their way to God and His Son Jesus Christ.
In all my circumstances, the Lord can give me the needed strength and allow my life to matter on an eternal scale.
He is allowing others to be greatly touched by my life, and vice versa as I look to my fellow trials sufferers for encouragement to keep going. He is using us, our ministries, and our daily lives to draw others to Christ! How amazing is that?! Even though Paul was in jail, it didn’t stop him from spreading the Good News about Jesus – like wildfire.
And seeing this does ignite a strong flame and boldness for showing others who Jesus is. All by, sharing my own life with others and seeking Jesus for myself.
Question of the Day: How can we share our lives with others who need Jesus? How can we start by first drawing our strength from the Lord?
