At the time of writing this, my internet connection is spotty. It has been happening a lot lately, as I try to join a church service or listen to worship music. I can’t help but think, “What’s different, Lord? Why now?”
Currently, I am digging in my heels – spiritually speaking. I am standing up to the Devil and my sinful nature, and seeking (and craving) our Savior Jesus! Now, this “dilemma” is sort of perfect timing. This week, we will be talking about how to not live – as followers of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
17 With the Lord’s authority I say this: Live no longer as the Gentiles do, for they are hopelessly confused. 18 Their minds are full of darkness; they wander far from the life God gives because they have closed their minds and hardened their hearts against him. 19 They have no sense of shame. They live for lustful pleasure and eagerly practice every kind of impurity. – Ephesians 4:17-19
“Their minds are full of darkness” begs the question:
Okay Lord, how am I filling my mind?
Which inspires another question:
How is my quiet time with the Lord? Do I even have a set apart time with the Lord, designed solely for me and Him?
Today, I craved the Lord and His Holy Spirit more than I have in quite some time. It was a time of seeking and craving Him. Still there, a few hours later. This doesn’t mean I am busy looking through commentaries and books.
I am just sitting, listening to the Word of our Lord, and praying as I feel led. I am going to keep sitting and bask in His holy presence. I want the craving for our Mighty God to continue. I don’t want to “quench the Holy Spirit” by ignoring this craving, that I have needed for so very long!
Our Mighty God knows what we need: We need Him, friends. We need to realize our need for our Savior Jesus Christ, and come running to Him – choosing to be completely dependent upon the Lord!
I read a verse earlier, that I am cherishing. It reminds me that when we come to the Lord Jesus with an honest heart, He will receive us. Friends, take hold of that treasure. Dig in your heels, and keep running to our Lord Jesus!
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.John 14:3, NKJV
