Make Every Effort

Lately, I have been enjoying Dr. David Jeremiah’s newest book “Everything You Need”. One thing my Grandpa passed onto his family was a love for God’s Word, and the way Dr. Jeremiah teaches through his writings.

In “Everything You Need”, we are given the opportunity to soak up God’s great and precious promises and be taught by God’s Spirit. In 2 Peter 1, we are reminded to use whatever resources we have – to add to our faith.

For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. – 1 Peter 1:5-8

How are you choosing to rely upon our Lord Jesus Christ? And, how can you use whatever resource you have, to add unto your faith in Christ?

For myself, I am reminded of my time, limited energy, the many Bibles I have in my bedroom, and my supply of books. I want to use these gifts to make every effort to add unto my faith in Christ!
