#33 (Summer Series ’19)

“37 Turn my eyes from looking at worthless things; and give me life in your ways. 38 Confirm to your servant your promise, that you may be feared. 39 Turn away the reproach that I dread, for your rules are good. 40 Behold, I long for your precepts; in your righteousness give me life!” (Psalm 119:37-40)

The words “preserve my life” are what stand out to me in this passage of Scripture. The waves of life keep threatening to overtake me, but I know our God is good. I know, He is mighty and able to save me.

But, I still desperately need the reminder that I can belt out this simple but significant prayer at any moment.

So Lord I ask You, preserve my life. Don’t let the waters of life overtake me. Keep me and my family safe. Continue to guide us. Thank You for Your strong arm! And that You are fully able to save me and all those I love. Preserve our lives, Father, and help us to stay as close to You as possible. ♡

“He who walks righteously and speaks uprightly, who despises the gain of oppressions, who shakes his hands, lest they hold a bribe, who stops his ears from hearing of bloodshed and shuts his eyes from looking on evil… (Isaiah 33:15)”

“All the paths of the LORD are steadfast love and faithfulness, for those who keep his covenant and his testimonies.” (Ps. 25:10)

“Praise the LORD! Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who greatly delights in his commandments!” (Ps. 112:1)

“Blessed is everyone who fears the LORD, who walks in his ways!” (Ps. 128:1)

“But with you there is forgiveness, that you may be feared.” (Ps. 130:4)

“Hear my voice according to your steadfast love; O LORD, according to your justice give me life.” (Ps. 119:149)

“Great is your mercy, O LORD; give me life according to your rules.” (Ps. 119:156)
