Read Matthew 2.

It is by God’s love that He came into the world. He came for us. Scripture reminds us that Jesus, God in the flesh, came to dwell with humanity, live among us, die a sinner’s death, and be resurrected on the third day. This is what Scripture teaches us. If we know nothing else, let us just “resolve to resolve… to know nothing [else] except Jesus Christ and him crucified (1 Cor. 2:2).”

This is just the beginning. Yet already, we are reminded of God’s love. God sent His Son. I am learning to grasp a bit tighter at a few certain words –

For God so loved the world that He gave His Son… (Jn. 3:16)

God Reveals

After Jesus was born, He began revealing Himself to the nations. A group of men came together, making the long journey, taking gifts along with them, and went with one goal in mind: to worship the Savior of the world.

God spoke.

They responded in worship.

It was that simply. They had no idea where they were going, but the Spirit of God spoke to them. As the Spirit spoke, they kept walking. “Take a left, here” or “walk up this path, right there”. Their journey was a long one, but it was just getting started. The main theme for me, is just the truth that they sought after God.

As God revealed Himself, they ran after Him.

God in the Circumstances

In His coming, God was revealing Himself to His Creation. He hasn’t stopped revealing Himself to us, either. The hard part is – things haven’t happened the way we might expect. But, those missed expectations have their purpose.

As we find ourselves in the chaos, we have to remember that God has a divine plan that He will carry out. God chose to carry out His divine plan in the midst of great chaos. Chaos in our own lives, never voids God’s plans. It just means He is carrying out those plans!

We ourselves find chaos to be intimidating. In our book, it might even mean plans are beyond screwed up. But, that’s not how it was for our Savior. Not then. Not now.

Question –

Today, how can you seek after God in the midst of the chaos? If there is chaos, just know it means He is working.
