A Month in My Shoes ('15 Challenge)

MMS – Worth

MMSFor the month of October, I am joining many bloggers in a challenge to write every single day for 31 days. I learned about this challenge through another challenge I participate in most weeks. The “Five Minute Friday” challenge is going to expand to last the whole month! Each entry, will be five minutes unedited of writing on a particular theme – found on Kate’s blog.Today’s theme is “worth.”

Whenever we reach the privital point of abandoning our comfort zone, we always seem to ask this one question – “Is it going to be worth it?” To step over our fears and all possible “what if’s,” we just want to know one thing – this thing. But, what if we let God lead us – whether than trying to estimate the value of this stepping-out-in-complete-truth-in-God-to-do-what-He-promises-to-do.

His Promise

God promises to work out all things for those who love Him.

We may not love our circumstances.

We may not love the fear that comes with stepping out of our warm cocoon.

We may not love anything about our lives right now as far as circumstances, hopes, and dreams go. But, will we make the choice to love God? Will we make the choice to place His worth in our lives, above the work it takes to step outside of our comfort zones?

He is Worthy!

God is worth more!

God deserves more than what He gets from us.

Even though I walk through the [sunless] valley of the shadow of death,
I fear no evil, for You are with me;
Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort and console me. –Psalm 23:4

Walking in Obedience

I need to work on just walking in obedience through the valley of death, and just let Him lead me. It is scary. It leaves me with questions, but God’s got this. In order to get to the green pasture, the really-great-stuff-God-has-in-store-for-us, we need to go. Don’t worry about this or that, just follow Jesus. Get in His Word, and follow Him.

The Message for All of Us

In whatever season you may find yourself, stop questioning the worth of what God is asking you to do. Just be obedient to the Holy Spirit, and keep your words and actions aligned with the Word of God!
