Five Minute Friday – Alone

Five-Minute-Friday-4-300x300Welcome to this week’s edition of Friday Minute Friday! This week’s theme is “alone”. To learn more about Five Minute Friday, please visit Kate’s blog for more details… Each week, a community of bloggers come together with the common goal is to spend five unedited minutes to write on a topic.

Alone, to be by oneself.

Who are we when we are alone?

When we are around others, I suppose it is easy to keep on the mask that we have glued to our personalities. But, who are we… alone?

Who are we when the world seems to not be watching?

How is our faith in Christ?

More importantly, how is our relationship with Jesus Christ when we are alone?

Just Be

When we are alone, although with Christ, we can truly be ourselves. We can live for a few moments without the expectations of others hanging over our heads. We can stop, and just be with Jesus -our Lord and Savior.

How often do you seize the opportunity to just be alone with Christ? How has it strengthened your relationship? We are One with Christ. To Him be the glory. To Him be the fame. When we are alone with Him, we are finally home. We are where we were meant to be.

Know Your Identity

We are loved.

We are treasured.

We are shown compassion.

When we are alone, we can simply just be.

“Don’t you realize that all of you together are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God lives in you (1 Cor. 3:16, NLT)?”

How does your alone time with Christ prepare you to be
in community with other believers and followers of Jesus?

How does spending time alone with God, your Deliverer,
help you to have unity in His church?

We need our alone time with our Savior so much! If only we realized, the great need… If only we realized its benefits to point out to our weary souls that we truly are One with our Creator!

He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth (Ps. 46:10, NIV).”

  1. i have to be honest and say that I don’t know how to just ‘be’ in God’s presence. i think that I’ve discovered that rest once or twice but i’m so used to performing that i forget that I can truly be me with Him, because he knows me…through and through. thank you for that reminder and your questions.
visiting from FMF. I’m your neighbor there this week ;)

    1. I don’t know how to simply “be” with the Lord, and enjoy His Presence either. By not doing though, I am figuring out that I think I need to somehow “perform” to be “good enough” and somehow “earn” His love, which soo not what the Bible teaches us… I started getting up early (I started this morning, so it’s not a habit yet), so He can have that secluded time to help me sort through and let my faith be built up. He has sooo much work to do in my spirit. He is faithful and just, and will do what He says. Somewhere along the lines, I have believed the lie that God might change His mind about me because I am not “doing” enough.. I need to put so much contradictory thinking aside, and really grasp His truth.
