Journal: Crazy?

I had a doctor appointment yesterday. One, I can’t get off my mind. My memory tape is working pretty good tonight (or this morning – totally dependent upon one’s perspective). Ironic, how it works when we don’t want it to…

Words and comments are being replayed:

  • “You have a lot of symptoms. I am not going to say they all point to a stroke.”
  • “These are not new symptoms… for you.”
  • “… All that can be done for you is being done.”

Then, there’s my favorite:

  • “Are you seeing a psychiatrist?”

Nice. Because I need a doctor to tell me possibly how crazy I am, or (at least) they think I am.

And, just for the record:

While I may seem like a nuisance to doctors and potentially the world at large, I am not one. I may seem like a burden, but I am not one. God has divinely created me, just as He has created you. My life may not fit into this nice cookie cutter, but it doesn’t take away from the fact that my life and experiences are just as valuable as your’s. God has called me. God has a purpose for my life. My purpose is meant to be different than your’s. It is meant to look differently. My job is not emulate you or your life, but to follow in my Savior’s footsteps and go where He leads.

God’s Word says differently regarding my life:

He says:

  • “I created you (see Psalm 139:13).”
  • “I know you (see Psalm 139:1).”
  • “I love you (see Jeremiah 31:3).”
  • “I called you (see 2 Peter 1:10-11).”
  • “I set you apart for a reason (see Jeremiah 1:5).”
