“For the Right Reasons” is Sean Lowe’s memoir of his journey from the Bachelorette and his heartache of not being chosen by Emily, to becoming an asset on his own season of the Bachelor, and his journey toward wedded bliss with his wife Catherine. It is impossible to critique much of someone’s memoir, because this is their story. This memoir is about Sean’s experiences to find his wife – and sharing the ups and downs that came with it. What I can say about “For the Right Reasons” is Sean seems genuine in his writings and how he portrayed himself. While genuine, he shares his story about the journey God has set him on. Sean shares his story in a way that will connect the readers in an engaging way, as he leads them – sharing the romance and faith journey that he has set sail on.
My response: I wasn’t overly impressed with the content itself. I, myself, don’t watch reality shows and in particular dating reality shows, due to convictions of my own. Those things aside, I think it is a well thought-out book that would encourage others. I enjoyed the way that Sean has shared his journey with his readers. In this book, Sean shares parts of himself that otherwise would go unnoticed. In this book “For All the Right Reasons”, he shares his journey of faith and how he walked by faith in his journey to find a wife on national television. Though it likely was quite uncomfortable at times, that is the path he traveled. While traveling by faith to LA where he was surrounded by many in the entertainment industry, he was given the opportunity to teach others about his walk with Jesus and the convictions that he has had.
